Though often misunderstood, the medication name is actually Plavix and it contains the active ingredient Clopidogrel, which is used to inhibit blood clotting.

Side effects may include nausea, dizziness and increased risk of bleeding.

As to whether or not it can replace your other medication, they are not really the same, so you'd need to discuss that with your doctor.

Is plavic a blood thinner? or a bloodpressure tablet. I also take Betaloc and Olmetec. Had a few TIA,s I forgot which one is the bloodthinner, I am also on Actonel for Osteoporosis. Thank you, greetings.
