Pyribenzamine

I am looking for tripelennamine. As a pharmacist I clearly remember 60mg then sr 100mg tabs being available. Zyrtec, Claritin, Allegra together could not work as well pbz. I worked at smoke filled bowling alley back then and pbz with Sudafed were required.

Yes, they are working well for me. Because they are so expensive I having taking one 100 mg cap at night and then generic fexofenadine (Allegra) in the morning. Seems to have gotten it under control very nicely. Since I had ServPro come in and take care of water and mold in the basement, my allergies seem to have lessened as well.

Same here, just looked for it today and surprised that it is not available. Going to investigate why not.

Re: Danny (# 51) Expand Referenced Message

I'm definitely still interested in a share. I'm not interested in SR except if that's all I can get. The pharmacy I got it from was willing to do the share. Whatever pharmacy that compounds has to be willing to sell 1/2 of the minimum to two people. I haven't contacted either pharmacy mentioned here. Have you?

Re: Danny (# 51) Expand Referenced Message

See Reply #45 for contact info on the compounder. You'll probably have to call them {ask for Chris} and see if they can ship interstate if you get a prescription to them.

Re: Debbie (# 6) Expand Referenced Message

YES, I would like to share in buying Pyribenzamine (Tripelennamine HCl) from the Compounding Pharmacy you mentioned. I can't find one here in WI. I can get a prescription IF there is a reliable supplier. If you don't want to share I would still like info on the Compounding Pharmacy if you please.

Well, if you are a pharmacist, you probably got a "family" rate. I have been taking them in the morning and they are helping a lot!

Debbie: I paid $90 for 90, but at least we know for all who are interested that pyribenzamine is now back on the market. Let us know how well it works for you. I've been taking them for about 2 weeks and they have made a difference in my post-nasal drip and morning cough, but not as substantial a benefit as I recall I received in the good old days.

Re: DrBob (# 42) Expand Referenced Message

I finally just got them today from Metcalf Compounding Pharmacy in Brevard, 90 capsules of 100mg each for $130.00. I am hoping they are as effective as this medication was for me as a child!

Re: Debbie (# 44) Expand Referenced Message

I FINALLY got 90 capsules (100 mg) of Pyribenzamine (Tripelennamine) from my compounding pharmacy (Metcalf) in Brevard, NC today for $130. They JUST got it in on Friday. It seemed to take a long time as their supplier didn't send it in previous shipments. I just took the first one. I'm sure that your compounding pharmacy could contact Metcalf for the information. If you can't find the phone number, let me know. I don't want to post it here so they won't get spammed by bots. Good luck!!!

Debbie - Not sure why you seek accolades. We're here to help one another.

As I posted previously, "I've located a source of pyribenzamine and my pharmacist/compounder has placed an order. Minimum amount he can order is 100 gms, sufficient to produce 1,000 100mg ER capsules. I don't know if he can ship out of state, but if anyone is interested I will ask. I am located in New Jersey. Of course, to order it does require a prescription. Let me know."

The compounder is Texas Road Pharmacy, 355 Applegarth Road, Monroe Township, NJ 08831. 609-235-9368. The pharmacist I worked with is Chris Socha.

Good luck.

Re: DrBob (# 43) Expand Referenced Message

Please tell me (us) the name, address, and phone no. of the NJ compounder. BTW, it was I who originally brought up the subject of having it compounded. That means I helped you, so please help me. I get sick from all other allergy pills.

P.S. I shall try to follow your example and find a "compounding" source in Pacific Northwest, where they are planting more of these pollen producers along freeways!

I'm in my 70's and have miserable allergic reactions to grasses and pollens... horribly itchy red eyes, wheezing, sneezing, coughing, etc. The only med I've ever taken that worked well, starting when I was about 13, was pyribenzamine. It allowed me to participate fully in school activities and to go hiking and camping. I cannot understand why the powers that be won't let us have a drug that actually works. I've tried many newer drugs -- a variety of eye drops and antihistamines -- but they have only been partially successful. I cannot understand why we aren't able to have a product that WORKS.

I am still waiting to hear back from Metcalf as they are waiting to hear back from their supplier.

I found a New Jersey-based compounding pharmacy. They are currently working on accessing the powdered pribenzamine from PCCA and will make me 100 mg SR capsules. SaraCon - In which state do you live?
