Effectivity Of Nordette Contraceptive
(Newest replies first)

Hi, I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend. I went to my OB last week and she told me that I was ovulating. And then my boyfriend accidentally ejaculated inside of me. After 20hrs I took the first 4 pills, and took the next 4 an hour late (because I fell asleep). Help me please? Is there a possibility I could get pregnant? Please, I'm really scared.
I've been taking nordette for 2 weeks already which is 13 pills. Am I already protected from being pregnant? I'm wondering if it's already safe. I'm confused because others are saying that you should wait for 1 month before doing it without a condom or something but on the back part of
the nordette packaging it says that you just have to wait for 7 days after taking it. Please help me! Thank you!
Re: calendargirl (# 580)
Thank you!!! And nope, I didn’t have sex anymore after I took the pill or after I bled.
Re: LittleMal (# 579)
Hi. Very irregular some may experience. Some cycles will return to normal after three cycles. However, some do not experience these irregularities. The symptoms you are experiencing may be another cycle coming. Safe fr pregnancy? that is, if you did not deed anymore after taking the pills or after you bled.
Re: calendargirl (# 571)
It’s been 5 weeks since the bleeding and if my count is right, I’ll have to have my period this week. Is it normal to have irregularities after what happened? Am I safe from pregnancy? Although I’m experiencing lower back pain now.
Re: Redvelvet (# 577)
Hi. Yes its the side effects of the ecp. It means that the ecp had worked. It would last in a couple of days. Do take note of the bleeding day because it might be the first day of your mens again for the cycle. Although some do experience irregularity until the 3rd cycle, some do not. So observe your bleed days. Impt to take it down for reference.
Re: calendargirl (# 575)
I am bleeding today! Is this WB already? How long will it last? Thank you very much!
Re: calendargirl (# 575)
Thank you very much! I will update as soon as i have my WB.
Re: Redvelvet (# 574)
IF you will have your bleed in a couple of days, it means that the ecp has done its job. Right now, you cant do anything but to wait. Doing pt right now if you will contemplate is not advisable either. And taking ecp now would just give you more chaotic side effects. We wait for the bleed. Just give the benefit to the condom since what has been done was already done. Its really anxiety that is so hard to deal with but its always that path that we have to take. Stay positive . Think that you took the first dosage in the right time and thats the most important step for ecp to work.
Re: calendargirl (# 573)
Actually it was already 19th of march when we did it and we used a condom. But im not sure if its broken or not.. today i had my white menses. I havent took another round of pills.. im really worried of getting pregnant ?? what should i do next?
Re: Redvelvet (# 572)
Hi. Did you took another round of pills again? I think when you took the first round, the pills should be working already and ready for the withdrawal bleed which should occur 7-10 days after the first dose. Since pills have golden period/effectivity period within 72 hours and your re-deed falls within it, i think it could cover the duration already. If you redeed it after say 5 days after your first dose, some would retake. But most of them do not redeed after intake of the ecp. You see, when you take ecps, you have that anxiety of the unknown— will you get preg or not, right? So most of them wouldnt redeed not until they bleed again because thats the sign that they are on the safe side. In your case, 18th is just 2 days fr 16th, so you dont need to retake again.
My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex last mar.11 and he was sure he did withdraw before ejaculating. Then we did it again last mar.15, however this time we are both not sure. so on mar.16 i took 4 trust pills and another 4 after 12hrs.. but then we had another unprotected intercourse last mar.18.. should i retake the ecp again..?
Re: LittleMal (# 570)
Hi. Its most probably your withdrawal bleeding due to trust. You wont be pregnant now because the bleeding will make the uterine wall not conducive for fertilization. It is sloughing of cells so its not a good ground for implantation. But always remember that ecp like trust or nordette will not stop pregnancy if it has already occured. These ecp acts beforehand so that implantation will not occur because the environment will not be suitable for it.
Re: calendargirl (# 569)
Hi there! Exactly 7 days after taking trust pills, I experienced the bleeding. I guess this is the withdrawal bleeding already or better yet, hopefully, my real period. Am I 100% safe from pregnancy already?
Also, just want to say that this thread helped me a lot in coping up with all the worries and overthinking! Thank you!!!!
Re: LittleMal (# 568)
hi. since you took it already, just wait for the withdrawal bleeding. it would be counted as your period. your expected period may or may not come as is. pregnancy test is not advisable right now. if you do not have withdrawal bleeding after two weeks or more of taking the ecp, thats the time you do the preg test, some would still wait for after a month of the expected bleed. these things happen because ecp ( like trust or others) are hormones which can alter your cycle.

Too bad I took more that what is needed. What will be the side effects in that case? Anyway, thanks for this, also ill be experiencing WB first and will only be followed by my period right?
can I use pregnancy test while waiting? Just really really bothered.
Re: LittleMal (# 566)
hi. after 2 doses. you wait for 7-15 days at most for the side effects to occur. if you are expecting your period this week, you might not get it since you took trust. trust is a hormone and when you take it, it will move your period day. you dont have to take more than what is needed.
hi, we did unprotected sex and i took 4 trust pill the night after it. Took again another 4 after 12 hours and another 4 again. No any side effects. Is that effective? Should I take another pill like althea? It’s been 7 days tho since the deed. I’m really bothered. I am expecting my period by this week too.
Hi. After unprotected sex, I took 4 trust pills the night after and another 4, 12 hours after. I took again after 12 hours after. It has been 3 days. Should I take another pill like althea? I’m expecting my period na rin by this week.
Re: Riri (# 563)
Hi. One hour delay is ok. You took the first dosage at the right time thats the most crucial period. But if you vomit, you have to retake it.
Thanks for the heads up about nordette.
Hi. Nordetter is already phased out here so i bought trust pills nalang. I took 4 pills at 9:30 pm and i’m supposed to take the other 4 pills at 9:30 am but i woke up late and took the pills at 10:30 am. Will it still be effective or should i take another four? Please reply asap
