Ampicilin ## flu like symptons....cough, eyes water, etc. can this drug be used and how often....ampicilina 500mg capsulas ## Ambidrin contains the antibiotic Ampicillin, which is only effective against bacterial infections. Thus, it will not help with cold or flu, nor the symptoms these illnesses cause, because they are caused by viruses. You can learn more Ambidrin details here. Additionally, using it inappropriately could result in your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria and that can be very dangerous. So, for anyone else looking, please only use antibiotics when your doctor or dentist has specifically prescribed them to treat an infection of some type. Are there any other questions or comments?

I have a really bad sinuses problem for the past month. Allergies I believe trigger this problem. My eyes itch and get watery, my nose drains clear liquid all of the time. I have headaches, and everytime I blow my nose, which is like every half hour 24/7, I feel like my head is going to explode. I have the pentrexyl ampicilina box here, can this help? ## No, this contains the active ingredient Ampicillin, which is an antibiotic that's used to treat various types of infections and it will not help with allergy symptoms. Learn more Ampicillin details here. What you would want to look for, if it is due to allergies, would be some type of antihistamine, such as Claritin or Benadryl. Learn more Claritin details here. I need too things, I have pentrexy (Ampicillin) is the same as Azithromycin? If not what the big differences. Do they kill bacteria ## Hi Debbie, Your first question asks whether or not Ampicillin is good to take for a bacterial infection. The answer is yes, as all antibiotics are made for this specific purpose. To answer your second question, no, Ampicillin and Azithromycin are two different types of antibiotics. Namely, each one may be better or worse for certain types of infections. These factors are also influenced by how well each patient responds to their treatment; whereas it may well work for some people and just not as effectively for others, due to allergies, side effects or what-have-you. If you have any more questions or concerns, please post back and I will be happy to help...

I will be traveling to Mexico very soon. And besides the logical precautions like not drinking water or drinks with ice or raw foods and vegetables, is there any medication I can take beforehand to prevent the horrible Moctezuma's revenge...someone told me to take Pentrexyl..is this right ? and what dosage and how often... ## Pentrexyl is a brand of ampicillin available in some countries like Norway and Mexico but not available in the United States. The usual adult dosage for this medication is 250 to 500 mg orally every 6 hours for 5-10 days, depending on the nature and severity of the infection. I wouldn't recommend taking it until you have an infection though, otherwise treatment may prove to be useless, due to antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria. I hope this info helps!

What is the dosage for a 35 year old female 170lbs of pentrexyl I have white bumps on my talsels really hurts please help ## Did you mean on your tonsils? Have you consulted a doctor? There are several possibilities that there may be white, painful bumps on your tonsils. The first would be an infection and, if that is the case, then an antibiotic such as Ampicillin may help. However, it could also be due to oral thrush, which is a type of yeast infection and, if that is the case, then an antibiotic is not effective and could make it worse. Thus, you need to consult a doctor to determine what the diagnosis is and what the proper treatment would be.

I drank last night and I was wondering if it's ok to take pentrexyl this morning ## Hi Morrison, Based on information I gathered from a drug interaction checker, Pentrexyl (Ampicillin) does interact with food; but I don't think it matters whether or not it's alcohol or even a piece of bread, just food in general. Drug interaction precautions state the following: "Adjust Dosing Interval: Certain penicillins may exhibit reduced gastrointestinal absorption in the presence of food. The therapeutic effect of the antimicrobial may be reduced. Management: The interacting penicillin should be administered one hour before or two hours after meals. Penicillin V and amoxicillin are not affected by food and may be given without regard to meals." That said, I would think that it&...

Can a 1yr old take pentrexly ampicilina suspension 250ml and how much can i give her??? ## Pentrexyl is a brand of Ampicillin, used for fighting infections. I think it largely depends on what the condition is that you are giving it to an infant for? I personally don't think that any infant should take a prescription drug. But none-the-less, there are certain precautions against mother's that are taking this who are breastfeeding their child, due to Ampicillin being excreted in the milk. Because of this precaution, I don't think it would be any different than the child directly taking it themselves, and should probably be treated in the same manner as a breastfeeding woman. That said, it would be wise to contact the child's primary care physician about this circumstance a...

should I avoid dairy, grapefruit or alcohol while takeing ampicillin? ## I ran an interaction search for you, here's the info: Food may decrease or delay the absorption of ampicillin from the stomach. If taken with food, potentially less ampicillin would be available for the body to use and blood levels of the drug could become too low. This could make ampicillin less effective at fighting an infection. If possible, take ampicillin on an empty stomach at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. Discuss this potential interaction with your healthcare provider at your next appointment, or sooner if you think you are having problems. from ## i had 6.75TSH what to take a food and what items should we aviod. i am using Thyronorm 25mcg table .How many days it takes to reduce

Woundering lve been taking ampicilina to treat eye infefection. What is best thing l should be taking ? ## No one but you and your doctor are going to know what's best for YOU, even if that something works well for other people. Ampicilina (Ampicillin) however, is readily used for the treatment of eye infections. You'd just have to ask your doctor about the right dosage and form of ingestion (eye drops vs oral tablets) for this treatment. It can help the eye infection heal quicker than without it. It can also keep an infection away that keeps coming back. If you develop an infection in your eye or your eyes, you may also be prescribed Amoxicillin antibiotics for eyes (as a first line of treatment). It comes in the form of eye drops. I personally don't know if Amoxicillin wor...

I am in a very remote part of Mexico. The nearest doctor is a three day trek and its the rainy season. I have an infection that by all indications is gonerrhea. The only antibioc available is Ampicilina 500 mg . Will this have any effect? ## Based on my research, pentrexyl (ampicillin) won't cure gonorrhea, but it can be used as a treatment option. There doesn't seem to be a lot of info floating around online stating how effective it will be against gonorrhea But it will have some positive effect on it. At least much better than not treating it. I will post back if I am able to locate anymore information on this subject, and likewise if you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to get back to me.
